Exterior Stuccos

Exterior cement stucco is both beautiful and durable. In southeast Michigan, the weather is extreme. Summers can be hot and humid and winters are cold and dry. When properly installed, stucco is an ideal exterior for such temperature and weather extremes. Our expert craftsmanship and techniques let us create a unique and durable exterior for your home which is both elegant and economical.

Sometimes an old stucco exterior needs a renovation to bring out its former beauty. We can renovate your exterior stucco - large or small - and can expertly match repairs to existing stucco.

Stucco Prep Work

Prep work is a major factor for all exterior and interior applications. With exterior cement stucco, galvanized self-furring metal mesh lath is attached with galvanized screws over prepared walls. Once secure, a preliminary coat of acrylic fortified cement stucco is applied. Keys, or horizontal lines, are added to create a mechanical bond between coats of stucco. Further coats of stucco are added, and then the finish coat is applied. Finishes are as unique as personalities and just about any type that is desired can be attained.  A specialty we provide is pebble dash stuccos.

Pebble Dash Stucco

Pebble dash is an exterior cement stucco which has become a specialty for AK Lacca Plastering. The application of pebbles or stone into exterior cement is unique, durable and beautiful. Limestone, crushed marble, pea gravel, or just about any other small stone can be 'dashed' into cement to create a finish that is breathtaking. Give us a call and we can create a unique finish on your exterior that will make your home into a castle.

Smooth Cement Stucco

Some homes have a stucco cement finish which is smooth troweled for a flat appearance. Preparation is the key to properly repair cracks and deteriorated wall areas. Here we can see the initial cement stucco layer on a repair for a smooth cement stucco. The wall is prepped for stucco with galvanized metal mesh and galvanized corner beads are added around a basement window. In preparation for finish, the base stucco is built to approximately 1/2 inch from the surface of the finish and is keyed to give a mechanical bond for final coat.
