Family History
Over 30 years of practical plaster and stucco experience
I have been involved with plaster, drywall, stucco and cement for all of my life. When I was younger, I was involved in it as part of my family business. I worked my way through college by 'slinging mud'. Although I graduated with an accounting degree and served in that field for several years, I always kept a hand in the trades and now enjoy it more than ever.

At 8 years old, I started as an apprentice with my father and uncles. My brother and cousin are also in the trade. People tell me that plaster is a dying art, but I believe it will never completely fade away because there are too many plaster walls and ceilings that need to be fixed the right way. I think it is a shame to fix plaster with drywall or cover it with paneling. I have restored countless jobs where I removed ugly tiles or boards in order to restore relatively good plaster underneath.

Uncle Frank once told me, "There are only so many days you can work in your life, so try and cram in as many days of work as you can before you die!" Sometimes I take these things to heart. But then I think that maybe Uncle Frank would be well advised to take a vacation once in awhile.
Work ethic in our family was never an issue.
